Palin is Living Rent Free in Mother Hen’s Head

Well, the Mother Hen of Hipster Douchebag Central, Joan Walsh, seems a bit miffed that Sarah Palin returned to the political stage this weekend, because… teh raaaaacist!:

Sarah Palin is back! Not only did she get another Fox News contract, she was the star of Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Conference this past weekend for her slashing attacks not only on President Obama and Democrats but on Republican sellouts (and 2016 hopefuls) like Jeb Bush. Watching Palin gleefully take on Bush, who made a dumb comment about needing immigration reform because immigrants are “more fertile” than native-born Americans, I realized that Palin’s star really is rising again, at a time of heightened racial insecurity on the white far-right. They need a hero, and here she is again.

Walsh claims to have almost forgotten about Palin since “the time she self-destructed by trying to make herself the victim after the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the shooting of 18 other people in Tucson, Ariz., in January 2011,” which is nonsense on stilts (as punching “Palin” into HDC’s search tool shows).

I’m pretty sure deploying some google-fu on Walsh’s Twitter feed would deliver plenty of Palin-related content. Walsh is also a regular on MSLSD, where every Palin tweet or Facebook post is incessantly scrutinized, so claiming to have “stopped paying much attention” to Palin since the beginning of 2011 is just… how should I put it? “Catty”? It’s the kind of diss one would expect from the lead chick dishing to her high school cafeteria claque. Or Chris Matthews.

But her star turn at the Faith and Freedom Conference on Saturday put Palin back on Mother Hen’s melanin-attenuated radar:

… Still, it was her attack on Bush this weekend that made me realize the extent to which she could become the face of the white nativist backlash, which is a dangerous development for the GOP, and the country, but a cushy, natural perch for Palin.

You have to hand it to Mother Hen: she’s an almost perfect distillation of the hysteric Left’s inherent tendencies. Everything is about “race” in Joan Walsh’s eyes, and everything that she deems to be bad is blamed on Whitey. It’s a smug, stunningly stupid world view shared widely among the Professional Left.
