Turmoil in the Court of the Unicorn King

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.
The Second Coming – William Butler Yeats

Not anymore, ChampIt seemed everything was right in the world, back then. The Unicorn King had been returned to his throne. His courtiers, emboldened, were convinced their Progressive agenda was poised to move forward; that the masses had joined with their cause, rejecting the Stupid Party’s “politics of hate,” in favor of the glorious future (and fuzzy bunnies!) the Democrat Party promised was there, just over the horizon; waiting to be embraced now that the GOP had been put in its place….

Well, that was then; this is now….

Obamacare, the signature “accomplishment” of Obama’s first term, is unraveling and showing itself the disastrous monstrosity opponents had predicted. Back in January, Democrat stalwarts in organized labor started to balk at the costs. The Obama administration offered them various, numerous waivers, to placate these invaluable members of his party’s base, but the disenchantment metastasized. Yesterday, Max Baucus–a co-author of Obamacare–said, “I see a huge train wreck coming down,” following Tuesday’s call by the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers International for the bill to be repealed or completely reformed. This led the Daily Beast’s Megan McArdle to ask, “Is Labor Turning Against Obamacare?”

An overwhelmingly large plank in the Democratic party’s platform, abortion, was pushed onto the public stage with the trial of the Butcher of Philadelphia, Kermit Gosnell. Facing seven capital murder charges, for delivering babies and then killing them, and a third degree murder charge for a patient given a fatal dose of anesthetic, the grand jury report issued prior to the trial cited horrific, macabre conditions found in Gosnell’s clinic, and Gosnell’s own ghoulish, perverse pride in the atrocities he performed.

75px-Kermit_Gosnell_mugPutting aside the “if it bleeds, it leads” edict that has (and still does, usually) driven every news cycle since Ben Franklin began pumping out pamphlets, Obama’s Praetorian Guard–the Make Believe Media–colluded to install an almost total blackout of what would be, if not for the political ramifications, the ‘Trial of the Century.” As horror, after horror, after horror were being read into the court’s record (duly reported by small, local news outlets), an online tsunami of outrage welled up against the MBM’s refusal to inform their national audiences about what was being made public in that Philadelphia courtroom.

Pro-abortion advocates attempted to rebut the blackout charges, offering a few, scattered articles published back when Gosnell was originally indicted in 2011 as “evidence” that the story had not been ignored, but the tsunami came crashing down when USA Today published a column by Kristen Powers, where she blasted the MBM’s concerted effort to hide this story:

Let me state the obvious. This should be front page news. When Rush Limbaugh attacked Sandra Fluke, there was non-stop media hysteria. The venerable NBC Nightly News’ Brian Williams intoned, “A firestorm of outrage from women after a crude tirade from Rush Limbaugh,” as he teased a segment on the brouhaha. Yet, accusations of babies having their heads severed — a major human rights story if there ever was one — doesn’t make the cut.

AmandaMarcotte2Their perfidy exposed, the chastened Make Believe Media was forced–unwillingly, mind you–to address what was going on in that Philadelphia courtroom. The pro-abortion advocates, realizing the damage their cause faces the more the public learns about Gosnell, are desperately offering nonsensical “reasons” that a monster like Gosnell was in business. The craziest feminist bitch on the Interwebs, Amanda Marcotte, tried to sell the idea that Gosnell exists because of… hatred of teh wymmins. In a recent salvo the Banged Beast asserted–falsely–that Gosnell’s operation was illegal, and only existed because pro-life protesters planted themselves in front of Planned Parenthood branches, which forced women to go to Gosnell charnel house.

Is it true? Who knows? I do know that this psycho bitch will make up shit–she calls Gosnell a “black market” abortionist–if she thinks she can get away with it. And if she gets called out, she’ll either change the subject or double down.

Meanwhile, in DC, the Unicorn King has been trying to push forward with his second term agenda. It used to said that the Republican Party was the party of “Gays, God and Guns.” The current Democratic Party is the party of “Gays, Guns and Green Cards.”

While waiting for the Supreme Court to hand down its decisions on gay marriage, Obama turned his attention to the latter two. Standing on the corpses of Newtown’s dead children, Obama and his fellow Dems tried to enact an updated version of ’90s era “Assault Weapons Ban.”

Yesterday, a watered down version of the bill died in the Senate, and the Unicorn King, “No Drama Obama,”  threw a ten minute temper tantrum:

There is a certain… majesty in how he managed to stuff so much complete and utter bullshit into that demagogical diatribe.

Which leaves us with the “immigration reform bill” that is heading to the floor of the Senate. Crafted behind closed doors by another of the bipartisan, obnoxious “gangs” the Senate is so infatuated with forming, it was released yesterday (in the dead of night), and people are already complaining about the 844 pages’ complexity, while other people are pointing to different sections that, in their eyes, offers illegal aliens  an ever loving, never-ending amnesty.

What the outcome will be is anyone’s guess, but if my buddy Achmed, the Islamic Jihadist, turns out to be involved in Monday’s bombing in Boston, consider the sucker dead….

Along with Marco “Shumer’s Bitch” Rubio’s presidential aspirations.
