Bet Da Jets

Bloomberg announces AFC Championship bet with Indianapolis Mayor Gregory Ballard.
This bet is unbalanced; our sauce kicks ass, and don’t even make me bring up the beauty of Denino’s calamari, and then drop the RALPH’S ICES bomb on your dumbassed heads

If the Jets win, Mayor Ballard will send shrimp cocktail from St. Elmo Steakhouse. If the Colts win, Mayor Bloomberg will send pizza from Denino’s Pizza Place on Staten Island, owned by FDNY firefighter Michael Burke of Ladder 147 and his family.

“Sunday’s game in Indianapolis will be as tough as it gets, but anyone who has counted out these underdogs the last few weeks has regretted it,” said Bloomberg. “It’s been more than 40 years since the Jets won the Super Bowl, but Revis and the Jets have New York City abuzz. Denino’s on Staten Island serves up some of New York’s best pizza, but I think Mayor Ballard will have to come east if he wants to taste it.”

Air America Idiot Update

I guess it is time to, finally (though lately its use has been sporadic at best), retire this headline and category: Cue Dandy Don….

It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business.

The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America’s business. This past year has seen a “perfect storm” in the media industry generally. National and local advertising revenues have fallen drastically, causing many media companies nationwide to fold or seek bankruptcy protection. From large to small, recent bankruptcies like Citadel Broadcasting and closures like that of the industry’s long-time trade publication Radio and Records have signaled that these are very difficult and rapidly changing times.

Those companies that remain are facing audience fragmentation as a result of new media technologies, are often saddled with crushing debt, and have generally found it difficult to obtain operating or investment capital from traditional sources of funding. In this climate, our painstaking search for new investors has come close several times right up into this week, but ultimately fell short of success.

Dude? You guys sucked, period. I’ve hammered away here again and again that your existential premise—aka: “business plan”– was a fucking farce. You believed you could throw a bunch of money up against the wall and take out Rush Limbaugh. That was so stupid that it made stupid people’s heads hurt.

Libtalk radio will go on. The successful ones were never associated with your stinking chancre sore operation. Alan Colmes, Steffie Hunter and that blowhard Schultz will still go on….

But your jackass outfit finally has a knife in its heart. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
