St. Andrew of the Heartaching Gobsmack Gets Bitchslapped

Andrew Sullivan: The Gift that Keeps on Giving – The New Editor

It seems that Sullivan approves of a hacker’s unauthorized hacking of someone’s e-mail in the interests of ‘vetting’ a candidate, but the publishing of his (idiotic) questions about an unverified rumor promulgated by partisan bloggers — and repeatedly illuminated at his site — is off-base and ‘unethical.’

It’s hard to make up this stuff — which leads me to two questions: One, does the Atlantic realize just how stupid Sullivan makes them look?

And two, is there anyone in the arena of political commentary who has done more to devalue the reputation of an Ivy League education than Andrew Sullivan?

Andy is so far gone it’s kinda sad, in a way….

Oh, who am I kidding? It’s goddamn hilarious to see him turn himself into a punching bag, insisting to claim to be a conservative, while ever since 2003, when Dubya re-affirmed the “Defense of Marriage Act,” he’s been getting more and more deranged, to the point that he’ll probably be a keynote speaker at the next gathering of the Kos Kidz.

An Aside

Just spent the whole morning guttin’ my home office to make room for a wall’s worth of bookshelves, while an ADT guy proceeded to set up a security system. We chatted a bit before he started working, me telling him how long we’d been here while I’m showing him where the power and the phone line comes into the house.

ADT Guy asks, “With all this gear in this office, and the laptops you got scattered around the house, why’d you wait so long to install a security system?”

ME: “C’mon, I’ll show you.”

We get in my car and drive to where Frick and Frack live. As we pull up to the gate they launch themselves at the fence and go just a little less then batshit. I yell “Shut the fuck up!” and they stop barking. I kick the fence and the barking resumes.

ME: “These two mooks used to be my alarm system… though at this point I don’t know if they even really recognize me. Wanna meet them?”

At this point Bobby sticks his head out of his “office,” which is just a spiffed up shipping container, waves at me, and goes back inside.

ME: “Actually, they might bite my ass harder if they do recognize me, because they used to have a pretty good deal patrolling my property. Basically they didn’t do shit other than exist to scare the shit out anyone who came near. Here, they gotta work for their meals. Bobby over there (I wave at the container) told me they already chewed down on four guys who were stupid enough to scale his fence.

“C’mon, let’s go in and see what happens.” I reach for the latch on the fence; Frick & Frack go into full-blown batshit mode and I scream “Sit the fuck down right fuckin’now!” and they actually listen to me. I damned near cried.

ME: “Whatever. But there’s the answer to your question. Those two maniacs make you ADT guys look like shit. You guys will notify the cops if someone breaks in; they would tear the intruder into iddy-biddy pieces. If they didn’t get so ornery that my wife started giving me shit, I never would have farmed them out and wouldn’t have needed to call you fuckers.”

“Community Organizer” = “Rip Off Artist”?

Well, considering the $160 mill he frittered away while working with Ayers on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, this is just chump change, but still, it sorta shows the casual viewer that Barry kinda follows a pattern when it comes to handing out other peoples’ money:
“Results? We don’t need no stinking results!”

A $100,000 state grant for a botanic garden in Englewood that then-state Sen. Barack Obama awarded in 2001 to a group headed by a onetime campaign volunteer is now under investigation by the Illinois attorney general amid new questions, prompted by Chicago Sun-Times reports, about whether the money might have been misspent.

The garden was never built.
And now state records obtained by the Sun-Times show $65,000 of the grant money went to the wife of Kenny B. Smith, the Obama 2000 congressional campaign volunteer who heads the Chicago Better Housing Association, which was in charge of the project for the blighted South Side neighborhood.

Smith wrote another $20,000 in grant-related checks to K.D. Contractors, a construction company that his wife, Karen D. Smith, created five months after work on the garden was supposed to have begun, records show. K.D. is no longer in business.
