Air America Idiot Update

Air America Host Randi Rhodes Suspended For Calling Hillary [and Geraldine Ferraro] A “Big F*cking Whore”

video goodness:

Well now.
I’m of two minds right now.

On the one hand, I’d say this outburst is quite in line with this stumble-down, face planting drunk‘s previous escapades, so it’s no real biggie.

On the other hand, as noted in the previous AAR post, she’s damn near on her own these days, so maybe the pressure (and the booze) finally made her cut loose and tell us what she really believes… and in the process gave WWRL more reason to cut her from their schedule since even her new bosses think she’s crossed some kind of line this time.

Thursday’s “Just Shake Your Head” Event

It’s saddening that this is even a story:
Mom lets son, 9, ride subway alone –

Once upon a time in New York City, it wasn’t a big deal if pre-teen kids rode the subways and buses alone. Today, as Lenore Skenazy has discovered, a kid who goes out without a nanny, a helmet and a security detail is a national news story, and his mother is a candidate for child-abuse charges….

As she wrote in her column about Izzy’s big adventure: “Half the people I’ve told this episode to now want to turn me in for child abuse. As if keeping kids under lock and key and helmet and cell phone and nanny and surveillance is the right way to rear kids. It’s not. It’s debilitating — for us and for them.”

When she said goodbye to Izzy in the handbags department, Skenazy didn’t even leave him with a cell phone. Instead, she gave him a couple of quarters so he could call home on a pay phone if he got lost.

Lenore Skenazy should get a “Mom of the Year” Award. If this column, as I believe it to be, is about her boy Izzy, then she gets what being an ‘old school’ Noo Yawk Kid–boy or girl–is all about: it’s our playground, Ma! Some things are built into my DNA, like the Giants and the subway. They are our birthright!
“I’m not your ‘precious little snowflake.’ I’m a big boy now!”

Atrios seems to agree with me, though this idiot tries to frame it in gender politics.

Okay, Now I Get It

This kinda explains this.

When “your” people are more than willing to pillory you, you gotta find a target that draws the fire away from yourself. Problem is, what if you act on it and England’s new top guy decides to go Maggie Thatcher on your ass?

And this had nothing to do with the new-borne Argentine bellicosity.
