Durham Redux

As was quickly discovered during the Duke Lacrosse case, the MSM, while deriding bloggers and “citizen journalists” as patently incompetent to report a story with the savvy, and investigative skills that attending a J-School provides members of their guild, are so collectively hidebound to the idea of ‘framing’ a story along socio-political ideologies that they just totally ignore the actual facts in the process. Blogger KC Johnson positively cleaned their clocks in covering the story, and got a book deal out of it.

In Media myths about the Jena 6, Craig Franklin, a Jena resident, and assistant editor of local paper The Jena Times (in other words, a member of the above-mentioned guild, not some pajama clad blogger) takes twelve “accepted truths” that the MSM have churned out while covering the case and shows that, to a one, they have no relationship to the facts.

The media got most of the basics wrong. In fact, I have never before witnessed such a disgrace in professional journalism. Myths replaced facts, and journalists abdicated their solemn duty to investigate every claim because they were seduced by a powerfully appealing but false narrative of racial injustice.

Some would think that after being so woefully de-pants in their coverage of the Duke debacle, these “professional journalists” would not have been so eager to just climb on the bandwagon and provide con artists like Sharpton and Jackson with more fodder to feed to their race-baiting money machine.

Some would be surprised that they didn’t learn a lesson after getting so blatantly burned, but not all… at least, not anyone paying attention.

UPDATE: I believe I have been banned by the poo-bah at Memeorandum. This entry went up at nine-thirty something, AM, my EastCoast time. I ain’t listed in the associated articles on Meme’s site, even though I directly linked to the article.

That’s not a discerning script, that’s someone playing purveyor. I sent an email to… what’s his name, “Mario” asking for an explanation of how his service works.
