Is Jobs Gearing Up for a Full Blown War?

Microsoft may be waiting for the other shoe to drop. That could happen in a big way if Apple should begin offering built-in versions of the new line of business applications Google rolled out earlier this week. Those apps are meant to compete directly with Microsoft’s Office productivity suite.

Technology News: Apple’s Board Gets Googled

With all of Remond’s Vista woes, and their temerity to stick a toe in the digital music player/distributer waters–which Steve considers his personal property–now is as good a time as any to make a concerted effort to knock their godamned block off by pushing heavy into the consumer and enterprise markets.

Between them, Apple and Google have more than enough guns to win that war. In the consumer market, Cupertino’s iLife stuff stomps anything else outh there, but Apple’s Achilles was always their lack of an “Office-killer” suite, and the new stuff (Pages especially) was never gonna cut it. But OS X combined with Google’s apps….
