Israel: “Hand Him Over NOW, or Else…” [updated]

…your Prime Minister is dead man walking.

The unprecedented warning was delivered to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in a letter as Israel debated a deal offered by Hamas to free Corporal Gilad Shalit.

It came as Israeli military officials readied a second invasion force for a huge offensive into Gaza.

Hamas’s Gaza-based political leaders, including Mr Haniyeh, had already gone into hiding.

Good. Israel has tried negotiating with these lunatics for decades, and every time the Philistinian bastards have refused to hold up their end of the agreements. Israel pulled all their people out of Gaza–in some cases using the barrel of a gun to get it done. And this is the way the Philistinians reciprocated: they elected terror group Hamas as their leaders, who immediately began using Gaza for staging rocket attacks. The attacks escalated to tunneling under Israel’s border to launch an assault on an undersized military outpost, where they snatch this soldier and try to use him as a bargaining chip. They also snatched a civilian and have already killed him.

Israel is making it plain: “We are finished talking. You hand our soldier over or all bets are off, and everyone on your side is fair game, starting at the top of the foodchain. And we don’t give a damn what the UN, EU or anyone goddamns cares.”

Reaping the Whirlwind

What Hamas did by causing this kidnapping and by publicly lauding the kidnappers was to commit an act of war. By any reasonable definition, the continuous shelling of civilians with rockets is also an act of war. Israel is merely calling it for what it is instead of playing word games. The Palestinians have been sowing that wind for years with the assistance of the apologists who have excused whatever the atrocities the Palestinians committed while condemning anything the Israelis did.

It would appear to be harvest time.

Blowing Bashir Assad’s beachhouse to bits, instead of just buzzing it, wouldn’t be a bad way of letting him know his day are also numbered, if his proxies don’t immediately comply.

UPDATE: Egypt says “Leave me out of this!”
