Taking “Stimulus” a Wee Too Seriously [Updated]

Umm… err… WTF?

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those – one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

What the hell is she talking about? How does doling out those tax dollars to the likes of Planned Parenthood, so they can hand out condoms, ‘morning after’ pills, or provide no-cost abortions, “reduce cost” in any way, shape or form?

This broad is flat-out, batshit insane. How does, “Go ahead, kids; fuck with abandon,” do ANYTHING related to shoring up America’s economy?

UPDATE: Nancy’s heartfelt Catholicism.

Welfare. Meaning AFDC, WIC, Section 8, food stamp program….

Presumably, fewer out-of-wedlock births mean fewer drains on social programs, administration, crime, etc., so, if the crotchdroppings aren't spawned in the first place…

I'm not gonna comment one way or another as to whether or not I agree….I'm just pointing out the rationale behind what most likely drives her thinking.

It's nothing new. Politicians can spin ANYTHING to make it seem it'll benefit the cause du jour (in this case, the economy).

It'll create jobs producing and distributing nutritious Soylent biscuits!

LOL! Limbaugh just said something along the same line of reasoning.

But all those unborn babies could be potential, de facto, wards of the state; utterly dependent of the government dole…

in other words, Nancy's party's core constituency.

  4. But what happens if there ain't enough bodies to put in the biscuit machines? :-)

Elderly, Republicans, losers in the lottery, there's enough to feed the rest if we only have the will.
