I watched the interview, and my first thought, like many others, was “who the hell cut this tape?” The editing was incredibly choppy, and Gibson seemed to be, instead of a dutiful interviewer, acting as a prosecutor, trying to trip up the “witness,” instead of drawing out his subject in a way that would allow viewers to get a better sense of who this Republican VP candidate is, and what she is about. That he at times went totally in the tank, searching for a “Gotcha!” (as when he made a fool of himself trying to portray her as a crazed fundie–which ABC shoved down the Memory Hole) was to be expected.
That he would actually sit in judgment–accusing her of “hubris”–well, that’s just the typical Beltway bullshit she’s been dealing with since being named the GOP’s VP nominee. But I have to agree with NeoNeoCon’s view of Charlie’s overall performance as the Not-So-Grand Inquisitor
