Why Media Monkeys are Considered Scumbags

Via AllahPundit (who refuses to allow me to post comments at Hot Air because a year or so ago I pissed off his boss), we get a picture into the mind of your typical, dumb-as-shit television crew:
You ain’t the People’s Popes, you Dopes, and can have your asses smacked just as easily as a no-name junkie.

And you, too, can earn a knuckle sandwich just by showing up where you were not invited:
Local media receives crash course in property rights

You walk into his yard, without an invitation? And think a camera gives you carte blanche?

You’re lucky you’ve not merely met with bowwows and buckshot.

Inane retorts are the land where morons were born. Who the hell did I impugn, Almighty Troll with Shit For Brains?

(see? Now THAT is “name calling.”)

Honestly? You are correct, very correct, about them having no right to trespass on that land without prior authorization, but the owner also was too quick to overreact….it was clearly an expanse of land, not his backyard, they were reporting on a brush fire in the vicinity, which would seem to be extenuating circumstances, and the reporter himself did not seem belligerent, rather respectable and clean-cut (although obviously the footage doesn’t capture the demeanor of the cameraman).

Again, he may be right, very right, but I’m not sure I’d put this crew on the level of the freakazoid paparazzi we have in these parts…how much of the owner’s meltdown was about securing his property, or just building up his own billy-bad-ass image?

IMHO, if it comes to a lawsuit, the property owner should not be held liable for damages to the equipment (if any), but he should be sternly chided by the judge for not giving the crew enough time to react and step off, and being too quick to lose his composure (and if he lost it out of stress from the fire, he should cop to that as well, before this very insignificant story becomes a wingnut cause celebre).
