Even after that farce was put in place, no one beyond the Beltway gave a shit about him. Howard Stern had knifed the old geezer to death two decades ago.

IMUS is a has-been…but he’s certainly no more insensitive than any other “shock jock” on the air today in any of the major markets. Sometimes those guys have mouths moving faster than their brains can keep up with. Trouble with live radio is that you don’t get ANY do-overs…I’ll bet you a dollar to a donut Don would want those few words back.
As far as Imus’ use of the term “you people” today…well, let’s remember who really made that phrase famous, that jug-eared Texas by the name of Perot.
As far as the use of “you people” as a racial epithet…when “those people” stop using the term “the man”….we can negotiate. I have never owned slaves…and to the best of my knowledge nobody in the family did either. My family tree shows men that fought in blue in the War Between the States and I’ve got over 23 years of service in and around the Army without complaint one about racial insensitivity. For anyone to claim I’m “the man” is clearly ill-informed.
