Mookie Wants His Boys to Die

al-Sadr calls for attacks on U.S. troops – Yahoo! News

The renegade cleric Muqtada al-Sadr urged Iraqi forces to stop cooperating with the United States and told his guerrilla fighters to concentrate their attacks on American troops rather than Iraqis, according to a statement issued Sunday.

The statement, stamped with al-Sadr’s official seal, was distributed in the Shiite holy city of Najaf on Sunday — a day before a large demonstration there, called for by al-Sadr, to mark the fourth anniversary of the fall of Baghdad.

Of course, he issued this edict while he himself is in hiding, knowing full well if he shows his face, it’s gonna be blown right off his shoulders.

  1. The Sadr Protests

The AP reports on the anti-American protest today as if it’s a countrywide thing put together by all sides inside Iraq: BAGHDAD – Tens of thousands draped themselves in Iraqi flags and marched peacefully through the streets of two Shiite…

I continue to scratch my head and try to figure out what the real solution is in Iraq. We’re trying to give these people a priceless gift, but yet we’re getting funny looks for the effort. Kind of like trying to explain the blue line to a female.

In hindsight, I really wish we had thought this one through a bit better before kicking it off. I still maintain that our senior military leaders never thought we’d be able to fight in that region in the summer. Guess nearly 5 rotations have proved them wrong at this point…

This is in NO WAY shakes my faith in the military…or their ability to get the job done. All I’m saying is that I wish it was as simple as “killing them all and letting God sort it out.” Perhaps if they’d come out and fight like men…rather than hide behind the skirts of old women, we could get something done.

See you on the high ground.

md, there IS no military solution to what now exists in iraq
it must be a POLITICAL solution, from within

and it cannot start, until we are far away

  5. MajorDad1984 says:

Hash…military action is simply an extension of political/diplomatic means.

If we were to go far away, we would be sealing the fates of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis…and I don’t mean in a good way.

If you want to get cross-ways with anyone, perhaps you want to go dig up some corpses that drew the lines on the maps following WWI. If there’s anyone to blame for much of the mess in the world…it’s those folks you have an issue with.

Sometimes your thinking makes me wonder what it is you do for a living….you’re far too naive to be in politics yourself, so count that profession out.

See you on the high ground.

you might want to can the personal insults

anyone who sends their seventeen year old son
into a slaughter zone for glory
occupies no high moral ground in my eyes

on easter sunday the pope issued a clear directive
what part of stop the slaughter don’t you understand

“If we were to go far away, we would be sealing the fates of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis…and I don’t mean in a good way.”

as opposed to the over 650,000 murdered iraqis
whose fate you and yours have already sealed for nothing

“you’re far too naive to be in politics yourself, so count that profession out”

    au contraire, major

you are fucking america with a wooden dick
don’t hold your ears when we scream that it hurts

hash, “naive” ain’t an insult; it’s an observation.

And last time I looked, Bennie 16′s opinion meant jack shit in the grand scheme of geopolitical things. No mullah, imam, or run of the mill Islamic cleric gives a rat’s ass about any papal “directive” to stop slaughtering their fellow Muslims.

You DO realize he wasn’t just talking to ChimpyMcBushHitlerCo, right?

  8. hashfanatic says:

    BENNIE 16???

    ah, i forgot

“No mullah, imam, or run of the mill Islamic cleric gives a rat’s ass about any papal “directive” to stop slaughtering their fellow Muslims”

it wasn’t directed at muslims to begin with

nice attempt at deflection, however weak

“You DO realize he wasn’t just talking to ChimpyMcBushHitlerCo, right?”

can YOU realize that Mensa Man was his main target nonetheless

  9. MajorDad1984 says:

Hash…you have no idea how lucky you are that you’re 2000 miles away.

I hope to hell that you weren’t making an inference that I should be ashamed of my son or his service. While he’s a bit older than the 17 year old whose service you choose to besmirch, he’s significantly younger than I was during Gulf War I.

I had absolutely NO claim to my boy’s willingness to serve, other than perhaps he felt the same calling that I did in 1980 when I first raised my right hand and swore to defend this great nation and her Constitution.

Personal insults? I’d rather batter you with fists than words at this point. You’re a fucking pussy punk…personal enough? You ARE a typical left-wing, hate America, nut job who is lucky he lives here…because without the protection you’re guaranteed, you and your running mouth would no doubt be silenced most ricky tick most other places.

I suppose that you have the right to your opinion…and as long as TC allows you to occupy his bully pulpit a place to say it. Keep in mind though…I have every right and the place (as TC seems to have adopted me at times as his little brother) to return fire.

Next time…don’t bring a knife to a gun fight.

See you on the high ground…

yeah, i’m fucking terrified, of some wingnut fuckup

    when you learn your place
and learn how to support AMERICANS first
    not YOUR way, but ours
than you’ll be diapered and changed

    till that point
    lay in your mess
    and wallow in the guilt
    you can’t bear to face

  11. hashfanatic says:

i apologize, you didn’t necessarily deserve that

i’m running out of ways to make you understand
    your attitudes are KILLING people

  12. TC says:

    BOTH OF YOU: COOL IT!

hash, you realize that as someone working in financial services, you earn your keep employed by the industry that is the underpinning of everything you hold as corrupting American society, right? Buying your daily bread with money earned by providing corporations with the means to become behemoths (and hide income from taxation); allow fat cats to become fatter, and screw to high heaven lower earning Americans by charging usurious rates for services the fat cats get for free (since they’re fat cats). Your employer, whoever it may be, sure as hell ain’t trading in Kumbaya futures.

  13. hashfanatic says:

    true dat

the problem is, the sanitation department wouldn’t give me an opening
    :)
